Meadow Barn
Buckinghamshire
PROJECT TYPE: Principal Contractor
ARCHITECTURE: KD Design
INTERIOR DESIGN: Kirstie Howard
OVERVIEW: Meadow Barn started life as a disused livestock shed; metal frame ready and waiting for its next incarnation. Far reaching views and its wonderful rural location, within striking distance of Oxford, made it the perfect residential conversion.
Built for modern living, with environmental responsibility top of mind, every element of the build and finishing specification was carefully considered and precision executed. The existing steel frame remained in situ, supported by a highly insulated Metsec structure, providing 260 square metres of durable and sustainable living space. A Kingspan roofing system is clad in sawn Redwood, which waterfalls down to cover external walls, concealing guttering and downpipes. The rendered external sections mirror the polished plaster finish inside.
