Asher House
Oxfordshire
PROJECT TYPE: Principal Contractor
ARCHITECTURE: HollandGreen
INTERIOR DESIGN: Lara Clarke Interiors
OVERVIEW: Situated on the fringe of a picturesque Oxfordshire village, Asher House is typical of the local stone-built properties that characterise the area, with original beams and impressive hearths. Working in conjunction with HollandGreen Architecture and Lara Clarke Interiors, innovative design and a collaborative extended team approach were the key to this complete transformation.
From playroom to pavilion, every inch of the house and garden was considered. The works involved stripping back more recent additions to the cottage, exposing and showcasing its original character and establishing a lighter-feeling interior that had a better flow and a more direct connection with the outdoor space. A complete aperture refit of traditional casement windows and French doors, as well as extensive made to measure cabinetry throughout, was by Barr Joinery. In addition, a traditional shaker kitchen with inset tongue and groove end panels and internals was manufactured and fit by Barr Kitchens.
