Mayfield Barn
Buckinghamshire
PROJECT TYPE: Principal Contractor
ARCHITECTURE: HollandGreen
INTERIOR DESIGN: Last Interior Design
OVERVIEW: Situated in fields just outside the village of Long Crendon, with endless views across the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire countryside, the overall objective was to create a unique, client specified family home with the lowest possible carbon footprint.
The main glazed face is triple glazed with a canopy positioned to offering shade in the summer and allowing solar gain in the winter. A bio-efficient waste system, air source heat pump, EV charging point and low carbon internal fit-out by Barr Kitchens and Barr Joinery (using ultra-low formaldehyde MDF and high-grade ply, thus serving to minimise manufacturing greenhouse gas emissions) are a few of the extensive list of considerations which made Mayfield Barn a truly outstanding eco-build.
