Clyde House
London
PROJECT TYPE: Principal Contractor/Heritage Restoration
ARCHITECTURE: Ibbett Associates
INTERIOR DESIGN: Stella Mannering and Co.
OVERVIEW: The extension and renovation of an exceptional Grade II listed London residence, with architectural design by Richard Ibbett of Ibbett Associates and interior design by Stella Mannering and Co., included whole house cabinetry by Barr Kitchens and Barr Joinery.
Clyde House was built in the 1820s and is uniquely characterised by a striking central double-storey half circle bay. The facade is original and has remained unchanged for the last two centuries. However, the properties curves have been respected and replicated over the last century, through several further chapters in its architectural journey. In this incarnation, Richard Ibbett’s designs included the addition of a new kitchen, where the inspired creation of a new curved bay, with turreted lead-roof detailing, reflects the stunning curved entrance hall at the opposite side of the property.
